GIS' Karting Club started in November of 2017 and takes pride in being a student led club. Mr. Rodrigo Pacios and Mr. Vaughan Pope have had the pleasure of supervising the althetes at GIS since the beginning, coaching, racing, enpowering, and driving students to practices and competitions around the UAE. The club has had a meteoric rise in the Emirati Schools Karting Championship, going from the third to last place in 2017 to 4th place in the senior team, and 1st in the junior team in 2018. The Karting club is a great oportunity for GIS students to grow as thinkers, communicators, knowledgeble and principled people, and as risk-takers. Practice takes place weekly on Saturdays.
